New Update to Google Maps With ‘For You Tab’ in iOS and Android

Google has been persistent in improving user experience of the Google Maps app. They gradually moved the Explore tab from sandwich menu to a new tab on the home screen of the app. This tab used to give the user a detailed info on the nearby places according to internal rating system of the google. Now they have tried something new to further improve the experience. In the new update Google has introduced a new tab ‘For You’ right next to the Explore and Commute listing all the item based on the personal taste and of end user. Rolling out with the regular update the new feature continuously gives you update on nearby Bars, Cafes, Restaurants and many more based on the location you have set as your home or work. This feature gives user an option to bookmark the places and they will automatically be available in ‘Want to go’ list. Nokia 8 Users May Have to Wait a Bit longer for Android Pie Update

HMD Global the manufacturer of Nokia smartphones is among the very few Handset makers who provide continuous and latest updates to their smartphone users across every price range be it top shelf or mid-range handsets. They have already rolled out the latest version of Android i.e. 9.0 Pie to three of their flagships. Amazon Alexa will now be able to play songs on Apple Music.

According to post on amazon’s blog on 17 th December Friday Apple Music will be available to its Amazon Echo Smart Speaker Users. This is the result of increased collaboration between the tech giants. It’s a very good news to those apple music users who own an Amazon Echo Smart speaker as they will now be able to access the Apple Inc’s 50 million songs library on their Alexa Device. Amazon also said that they will stack more apple products in their store for shopping this holiday season. They have made a statement that they will be selling latest version of apple device on their shopping portals. Apple is also offering HomePod Smart speakers which uses Apple Inc’s voice assistant Siri, helping them compete against similar offering from tech giants like Amazon and Alphabet Inc’s Google.

There have been talks of Reliance’s JioMusic and Saavn Music app merger. Reliance Jio acquired majority stake of Saavn in March of this year. The launch of JioSaavn is basically a rebranding of Saavn app on iOS and JioMusic app on Android Google Play Store. The new JioSaavn app does not look that much different from previous Saavn. The Jio user are being offered complimentary 90-day pro service of the new JioSaavn app in which they get fully ad-free unlimited audio streaming. “Google Duplex” Possibility to replace Call Centres, according to reports

Google is reportedly developing and testing a new king of voice assistant codenamed “Duplex”. It is Google’s new Natural language voice assistant. They are expecting it to replace call centres and answer customer service question to the Realtime users. Amazon and Google have both been trying their best to expand their market share in India but the task is not as simple as it seems. It was difficult enough for their AI powered Google assistant Amazon Alexa to understand Indian English but the main challenge in front of the tech giants is to make assistant able to decipher the many local languages as well as the combination of Indian English and those local slangs.
