Google’s project treble will reduce time it generally takes for an android update to reach your smartphone.

Whenever some buys a phone that is not made by google there is always a risk that the updates may take a lot of time to reach their devices. To reduce the waiting time for every android smartphone user Google is going to launch a project named Treble with its latest operating system for mobile devices Android O.

With the introduction of Google’s Project Treble everything changes. Google says that Treble is their biggest change yet to their low level system architecture. With project Treble what google is trying to do is that they are trying to make it easier for the manufacturers to push the new software to their devices, by cutting down on time and money required in doing so.

According to Google’s Android Developer Blog Thing that will help the manufacturers in pushing updates faster is Stable Vendor Interface.

With a stable vendor interface providing access to the hardware-specific parts of Android, device makers can choose to deliver a new Android release to consumers by just updating the Android OS framework without any additional work required from the silicon manufacturers

The flow chart above shows the steps required that any android release has to go through before getting into the hands of the consumer.

Google has always been behind in the race of pushing updates to all the smartphones that showed them that the current method is not as effective. It has almost been nine months since the Android Nougat has been released but still the market share of android nougat is only 9.3%. so the changes to the release cycle was very necessary.
